What are the eight weapons in After Bingo?
There are eight: the knife, the baseball bat, the sledgehammer, the shotgun, the flamethrower, the tazer, the SMG and the bazooka. Everyone spawns with the knife. The other seven lie on the floor in fixed spots on both maps and come back a while after someone takes one. The rule of thumb: the slower a weapon makes you, the harder it hits.
The eight at a glance
The table gives each weapon's damage, how often it hits, how far it reaches and how fast you move with it in hand. Every man has 60 health and nothing heals by itself, so the damage tells you how many hits a kill takes.
| Weapon | How it hits | Damage | Rate | Reach | Your speed |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Knife | Melee: a slash | 5 | Every 0.5 s | 1.5 tiles | 130% |
Baseball bat | Melee: a wide swing | 19 | Every 0.67 s | 2.75 tiles | 105% |
Sledgehammer | Melee: a crush that lands 0.35 s after the press | 80 | Every 2.17 s | 1.75 tiles | 85% |
Shotgun | One slug | 45 | Every 1.33 s | 3 tiles | 70% |
Flamethrower | A cone of flame while held | 11 | Every 0.5 s while held | 4.25 tiles | 75% |
Tazer | A dart that holds its victim 1 s | 20 | Every 1.2 s | 3.5 tiles | 85% |
SMG | Bullets | 6 | Every 0.23 s | 7.5 tiles | 85% |
Bazooka | A rocket that bursts over 2 tiles | 70 at the centre, 20 at the edge | Every 3.5 s | 9 tiles | 55% |
Knife

The spawn weapon. A stab does 5 and the slash sweeps across 1.5 tiles in front of you, so a kill from full health takes twelve stabs. What it gives you is legs: nothing else moves you as fast. Use it to reach a better weapon, to finish a man someone else softened, or to chase down a bazooka that just fired and has to wait.
Baseball bat

A wide swing from your right shoulder round to the front. It covers more ground than any other melee weapon, and it is one of only two weapons that move you faster than the base speed. Four hits put a man down. It suits the crowd in a doorway and anyone who likes to stay on the move between swings.
Sledgehammer

Press, and the hammer goes up; it lands 0.35 seconds later, along the aim you had when you pressed. A ring on the floor marks the spot from the moment you press. One hit kills. The wait is the price: a man who sees the ring can step out of it, and a stun or your death calls the blow off. It suits players who read where the others will be, not where they are.
Shotgun

One heavy slug of 45 that reaches three tiles past the barrel. Two slugs kill, and the wait between them is long, so the first one has to land. It slows you down more than most. Wait behind a corner or a door and let them come to you.
Flamethrower

Hold the attack and it pours. The flame is a cone that reaches 4.25 tiles ahead and burns everyone inside it, not only the first man, twice a second for as long as you hold on. Walls stop it. It is the answer to a crowded room and a bad choice in the open, where a gun outranges it.
Tazer

Fires a dart over a short range. A hit holds the man where he stands for one second: he cannot move, attack or dash, and an electric ring crackles round him. Three darts kill on their own, but the stun is the point. Pair it with a friend, or tag a man and close in with the knife.
SMG

Hold the attack and it fires a round every 0.23 seconds, each one small; ten hits kill. It reaches further than the tazer and the shotgun, and it keeps you moving at the tazer's pace. Keep the aim on a man who is running away: it is the gun for the long fight.
Bazooka

One rocket every 3.5 seconds. It flies until it meets a wall, a man or the end of its reach, then bursts. Everyone within two tiles of the burst takes damage, most at the centre, unless a wall stands between them and it; the shooter never does. A rocket at a man's feet kills him. It is the slowest weapon to carry, and each map has only one: dead centre on Four Seasons, under the gazebo on the Community Centre.
Picking up, waiting and swapping
- Walk over a weapon on the floor to take it. It sparkles while it is there to take, and comes back to its spot a while after someone takes it.
- You carry one weapon. Pick up another and it replaces the one in your hand; pick up the one you already hold and nothing changes.
- After each attack the weapon's icon at the bottom of the screen dims until you can attack again. The slow ones, the sledgehammer, the shotgun, the tazer and the bazooka, also draw a ring round your man that fills as the wait runs out.
- When you die, you come back with the knife.
- No weapon fires while you dash. A held flamethrower stops and starts again after the dash.
Where each weapon lies is on the map pages: Four Seasons puts a shotgun and a tazer in every quarter, and the Community Centre spreads its weapons over rooms and garden. The controls for attacking and dashing are in how to play, and you can try every weapon against the bots before you take them online.
Which one to grab
| If you like | Grab | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Speed | Knife or bat | The only two that move you faster than the base speed |
| One big hit | Sledgehammer or bazooka | One blow or one rocket at the feet ends it |
| Ambushes | Shotgun | Two slugs from behind a corner |
| Rooms full of people | Flamethrower | It burns everyone in the cone |
| Helping a friend | Tazer | A man who cannot move is an easy kill |
| Range | SMG | It keeps hitting a man who runs |
Then play a round and find out which one suits you.
