The Community Centre: the bingo club with a car park

Updated on

The Community Centre is the club where the bingo happens, and where it gets settled afterwards: eleven rooms round a big hall, with a car park, a lawn and a garden outside. Doors are two tiles wide, the furniture and the cars make cover, and the bazooka waits in the garden under the gazebo's roof, which hides whoever stands beneath it.

The map

The Community Centre from above: the bingo hall and the rooms round it, the chapel, the car park with its cars, the striped lawn and the garden with the gazebo

Inside: the bingo hall, the lobby, the north hall, the sitting room, the lounge, the games room, the east corridor, the chapel and its runner, the day room, and the toilets with the cloakroom. Outside: the car park and its road, the forecourt, the alley, the lawn mown in stripes, the path along the wing and the garden with its gazebo. The kitchen, the office, the bin store, the garage and the sheds have roofs and no way in. A hedge and the building's own walls close the grounds.

Doors, walls and cover

Every door is two tiles wide: room for two men to pass, or for one shotgun to wait beside it. Walls stop everything. The cars, the dumpsters, the podium, the prize table, the pool table, the altar in the chapel and the garden's bushes stop bullets too, so they make real cover. The lighter furniture, the pews, the tables, the benches, the chairs and the sofas, stops a man but lets a shot fly over it.

Where the weapons lie

WeaponWhere
ShotgunThe bingo hall, the lawn and the car park
TazerThe chapel's runner, the car park and the forecourt
SledgehammerThe alley and the lawn
Baseball batThe lobby and the day room
FlamethrowerThe north hall and the toilets
SMGThe games room and the lawn by the gazebo
BazookaUnder the gazebo's roof

That is fifteen spawns in all. The bazooka comes back more slowly than the rest after someone takes it. Both flamethrowers lie indoors, where a cone fills a room.

Health packs and spawns

The six health packs lie in the bingo hall, the lounge, the chapel's runner, the toilets, the car park and on the lawn, none of them right next to a weapon. Each heals 30 and comes back after 25 seconds. The twelve player spawns are spread from the bingo hall to the car park, and a new life starts at one with no enemy close by when there is one.

The gazebo and the garden

The gazebo's roof and the three trees in the garden hide whoever stands under them. The roof turns see-through for you alone, the screen says Hidden, and the others see only the roof. Bots lose you there unless they come close and peek, which only Hard and Very hard bots do, or you just hit them or fired near them. So the man under the gazebo with the bazooka is hard to find, until he fires: rockets, flashes and the burst all show.

How a round goes here

A round lasts five minutes. The building rewards short fights at doors and corners: the shotgun, the bat and the flamethrower shine indoors, the SMG and the tazer on the lawn and in the car park. The dash gets you through a doorway before a shotgun can turn, and everyone passes through everyone, so a crowded corridor does not block you.
