Information we collect
Information you provide
Player name. The You panel (the card at the top right of the title screen) lets you type a player name of up to 16 characters. It is saved on your device. In an online game it is sent to the other players and, if you list your game publicly, shown in the list of open games. You decide what goes in that field; you do not need to use your real name. It is never part of the analytics.
The Game does not ask for your email address, date of birth, phone number, or any similar detail.
If you contact us by email, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to write, so that we can reply.
Your options and stats
Your options (volumes, vibration, damage numbers, weather, analytics, your colour and character, your player name, the last game you joined) and your lifetime stats are saved only on your device. The Game sends neither to us.
Analytics
To understand how the Game is played and to improve it, we use Google Analytics for Firebase. Analytics is on by default; on Android and in a browser the Game says so, once, when it first starts. When you play, the Game records events like these:
- a menu screen opening (the title, the match setup, the options, the pause menu, the scoreboard and the like);
- a match starting and ending: whether you play on your own, host or joined an online game, the map, how many bots and people play, the bots' difficulty, the round's length, the character you play, and at the end your kills, deaths, place, whether you won, how long you played and how the match ended (the round's end, you leaving, the host leaving or the connection dropping);
- each kill and death of yours, with the weapon and whether the other player was a bot or a person, and the weapons and health packs you pick up;
- your rank going up;
- hosting or joining an online game, and why an attempt failed;
- sharing an online game's code, and the awards you win at a round's end;
- which option you changed and its new value.
With them go your rank, your character, whether you play by touch, gamepad or mouse, and which version of the Game you play (Android, web, Mac or Windows). Firebase adds, by itself: an app instance identifier (on Android) or a Google Analytics client identifier kept in a cookie (in a browser), device and app information (such as the device model, operating system version, language, screen size and app version), when the Game was first opened and, on Android, how it was installed (Google Play's install referrer, such as a store search or a link), sessions and how long they last, and your approximate location (country or region) estimated from your IP address.
Our analytics is set up to be privacy-protective:
- No advertising identifier. On Android the Game removes the permission to read the advertising ID, and the advertising consents of Google Analytics are always denied. Your play is not used to build an advertising profile.
- No names or codes. Your player name and the codes of online games are never sent to analytics.
- No cross-app or cross-site tracking. Analytics data is used only within the Game.
- Coarse location only. No precise or GPS location is collected.
You can turn analytics off at any time: Options > Analytics. Switching it off stops collection at once and clears the identifier described above (on Android the Firebase app instance identifier; in a browser the Google Analytics cookies and the Firebase installation identifier). In a browser, with analytics off the Game does not load Google's analytics code at all. The rest of the Game is unaffected. The Mac and Windows versions send no analytics.
Online play
When you host or join an online game, the Game uses Unity Gaming Services (Relay, Lobby and anonymous Authentication) to connect the players; like any internet service, they see your device's IP address to do so. Your player name, colour and character are sent to the other players of that game. A game you list publicly shows its code, map, the host's player name and the number of people in the list of open games for as long as it is open, and every hosted game's lobby, listed or not, is named after its host ("Stan's game"). Unity's anonymous sign-in gives the Game a random player identifier for these services; it is not linked to your name or to the analytics.
The Website
When you visit afterbingo.app, we count the visit with Clicktag, a cookie-free web analytics service. Its script sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device. It records the page you open, the site or campaign that sent you, your country (estimated from your browser's time zone), your browser and operating system, your device type, screen size and language, and how long you stay on a page and how far you scroll. To count a visitor once a day without a cookie, Clicktag combines your IP address and your browser's user agent with a random value that is replaced every day and deleted once the day ends, so a visit cannot be linked to another day's. The Website has no forms, no accounts and no advertising.
What we do not collect
- Your email address, password, or social-media login.
- Your real name: only the player name you choose, which stays out of analytics.
- Precise or GPS location.
- Your contacts, photos, microphone, or camera.
- Advertising identifiers.
- Special categories of data (such as health, religion, or biometric data).
How we use information
We use the information described above only to run the Game and its online play, to understand in aggregate how it is played so we can improve it and keep it stable, and to answer your questions. We do not use it for advertising, we do not build a marketing profile about you, and we make no automated decisions about you.
Legal bases for processing (GDPR)
| Purpose | Legal basis |
|---|---|
| Running the Game and its online play | Performance of a contract (Article 6(1)(b)) |
| Product analytics, to understand how the Game is played and improve it | Our legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)). You can object at any time by turning off Options > Analytics |
| Counting visits to the Website, to see how people find it | Our legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)) |
Third-party services
These providers process data on our behalf ("processors"); each has its own privacy policy.

International data transfers
Our providers may process data on servers outside the European Economic Area (EEA), including in the United States. Where personal data is transferred outside the EEA or the United Kingdom, it is protected by appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
Data retention
- Analytics data is kept for 14 months, the retention set in our Google Analytics configuration, and then deleted or kept only in aggregated form that does not identify you.
- Clicktag keeps the Website's visits as statistics per page, source and day; the random value behind the daily visitor count is deleted at the end of each day.
- An online game's lobby is deleted when its host leaves the game or closes the Game; if the host's connection drops, Unity's Lobby service removes it by itself.
- Your options and stats stay on your device until you delete the Game or clear its data (in a browser, the site's data).
Your privacy rights
If you are in the EEA or the United Kingdom, you have the right to access, correct, or erase your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing (for analytics, Options > Analytics does that at once), to data portability, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, in the Netherlands the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens. To use these rights, contact us; since the Game has no accounts, we may ask for the details that let us find your data.
Children
[Open point: the age the store listing gives.] The Game is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The date at the top says when it last changed; a significant change is announced in the Game or on its store page.
